Things have been a little quiet lately on the blog so we thought we would kick start things with some images of the Ferrari Club of America National Meet Concours held last week on the grounds of Road America race course in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. Paul and I had been buried in work and decided to take a road trip to re-charge the Dino restoration batteries. To our surprise of the 4 Dino's entered in the show, 3 of them were GT's; a departure from the normal flood of GTS' normally seen at shows in America.
In the end the blue GT pictured walked away with Platinum and Best Dino honors. Upon inspecting the car we were pleased to see that it had our wheel caps fitted :)
Just one query guys ...
ReplyDeleteHow do you tell them from original?
;-)
It is tough but the give away is how new and shiny they are. The silver car next to the blue one had really nice original caps so we were able to squat between the cars and look back and forth to compare. Visually they were identical but even the best cared for original caps show their age. Another give away was that the restorer who was present told us he bought the caps from us :)
DeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI have just purchased a set of the Dino Script for the wheel centers with my intention to replace the Ferrari Horsey plastic push in caps with the Dino Script .
Do we have a favourit way to carefully remove the Horse logo or isit just a case of machining it away ?
The Ferrari caps are made up of 2 parts: The black surround and the horse lens itself. Using a flat head screwdriver you can pry the two parts apart. Note that if you intend to use our caps in that space then they will need to be trimmed a fraction smaller in circumference.
